 Exercise

 is medicine.

At ACE, we are fully committed to supporting our NDIS participants to improve independence and confidence.

One of the biggest goals exercise physiologists aim to achieve for people living with disability is to increase overall physical capacity, so the participant can participate in school, work, social and community activities.

By implementing a tailored exercise program, providing education on behaviour change techniques and physical activity recommendations, exercise physiology can help you improve the quality of your life and prevent future diseases.

Currently we have NO WAIT period for NDIS participants who require exercise physiology.

Conditions we treat

What is Exercise Physiology?

Exercise physiology (EP) is a branch of physiology that applies evidence based scientific knowledge of the body's mechanical, physical, and chemical processes to prescribe effective exercise programs for injury or post operative rehabilitation, relief from pain and discomfort, and treatment of chronic health conditions/disease.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists, who are university-qualified allied health professionals, are affiliated with or backed by Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), and work with patients through Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover, TAC & DVA. They are often referred to by doctors to help treat and manage injuries, chronic illness, or conditions they have diagnosed.

EP's specialise in developing clinical exercise interventions tailored to individuals with a broad range of health issues, including those at risk of developing or already diagnosed with medical conditions and injuries. The main objectives of exercise physiology interventions are to prevent or manage acute, sub-acute, or chronic disease or injury, and to help individuals regain their optimal physical function, health, and overall wellness. These interventions consist of strategies including health and physical activity education, advice, support, and lifestyle modification, with an emphasis on achieving long term behavioural change.

Alex has helped guide me on how to rehabilitate various injuries in the past. First after I dislocated my shoulder and again for nagging knee pain every time I trained my legs. He ran thorough physical assessments and gave me a comprehensive gym program to address my issues, highly recommend!

I've been struggling with anorexia and depression but since seeing Alex he's helped me with getting stronger physically and mentally in a safe way catered to my needs.

Now I'm more confident in myself and I've also surprised Alex by learning a dragon squat by myself!! Alex is very friendly and knowledgeable, highly recommended.

Alex has been a great listener and patient with my parents. He listened to what my parents’ need and set up a set of exercises for them. It is very helpful to follow his program and they can work with that at home.
Alex speaks mandarin fluently and made my dad feels very comfortable and confident when they work together.
It has been a positive experience for all of us.
